Fladgate advises Sojourn Hotels on acquisition of a 102 room hotel site

Our team: James Fry

Fladgate LLP has acted for Sojourn Hotels LLP (Sojourn) on the purchase of a vacant retail site and workshop in Walmgate.

The site has planning consent for the construction of a 102 room hotel. Sojourn will now develop the site and open an IHG Indigo branded hotel.

Fladgate property partner James Fry, a member of the firm’s hotel sector team, advised Sojourn. Fladgate also advised Sojourn in January 2011 on the acquisition of a former Mitchells & Butlers branded hotel in Oulton, Leeds and its subsequent redevelopment and rebrand to a Holiday Inn Express. James continues to act for Sojourn on further UK acquisitions.

Fladgate’s hotel team provides the full range of legal services required by clients across the industry spectrum, from listed hotel chains, operators and companies supporting the hotel industry, to luxury high end resorts. It advises on the structuring, financing and successful completion of the range of acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, refinancings, developments and other transactions undertaken by clients, whether in relation to existing businesses or new operating sites. The team has undertaken various fundraisings via the international capital markets for our hotel clients and also advises on all areas of commercial activity including management agreements, franchising, operational leases, promotional matters and fractional entitlement.
