Fladgate LLP has successfully represented the Force India Formula One racing team (Force India) in a High Court case against Futurecom Events & Marketing GmbH (Futurecom), a German based supplier of catering and logistics.
Futurecom alleged that Force India had acknowledged an indebtedness in an amount exceeding Euro 800,000 in an agreement written in German.
Futurecom argued that the case should be heard in Germany and that Force India should be ordered to make payment under the agreement.
Fladgate litigation partners Mark Buckley and Alexander Wildschütz, acting for Force India, successfully argued for the case to be heard in England and that the agreement in question did not contain any acknowledgement of the alleged debt.
