Fladgate LLP is delighted to announce the appointment of resources partner Paul Airley. Paul has joined from McCarthy Tétrault, where he has been a partner since 2007.

Paul, who is an energy and resources specialist, has wide ranging experience of corporate finance and M&A transactions, including public and private acquisitions, joint ventures, Main Market and AIM listings, secondary fundraisings and transactions for listed companies, UK fundraisings for overseas companies and corporate reorganisations.

In addition, Paul’s in-depth sector knowledge will provide a major boost to Fladgate’s growing energy and resources team which comprises practitioners in the fields of commercial contracts, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and projects. The team already offers sector specific knowledge in a range of areas including energy, oil and gas, mining and renewables, on both a domestic and international scale.

Commenting on the appointment, Fladgate’s Chairman, Charles Wander said: “We are delighted to welcome Paul to Fladgate. His considerable AIM and public and private M&A experience will enhance Fladgate’s existing high profile in this area, while his extensive credentials in the energy and resources sector will add to our growing capability in this field”.

Grant Gordon, head of the corporate department, added: “Paul’s experience of working with significant Canadian resources companies, and his exposure to Canadian capital markets and M&A transactions, will provide real added value to clients of our AIM and energy and resources practices, both of which have been particularly active recently”.
