Fladgate advises on acquisition of M&S distribution centre

Our team: Richard Kaufman, Avram Kelman

Fladgate LLP has acted for a private family trust on the acquisition of a joint venture company that owns the state-of-the art M&S distribution centre in Castle Donnington, North Leicestershire.

The 1 million sq ft distribution centre is half a mile long, 100ft tall and covers a 60 acre site. Goods will be freighted directly to the site after 1.5 miles of dedicated rail track was laid connecting the distribution centre to the national rail network, opening up the East Midlands Rail Freight Terminal. The building also boasts the longest solar panel wall in Europe. The energy produced from this will heat the centre.

Property partners Richard Kaufman, Alan Erwin and Daniel Rubie, corporate partner Avram Kelman and tax partner Huw Witty advised the client.
