Fladgate LLP has advised a private family trust on the sale of the state-of-the art M&S distribution centre in Castle Donnington, North Leicestershire for £82.575m.
The 1 million sq ft distribution centre is half a mile long, 100ft tall and covers a 60 acre site. Goods are freighted directly to the site after 1.5 miles of dedicated rail track was laid connecting the distribution centre to the national rail network, opening up the East Midlands Rail Freight Terminal. The building boasts the longest solar panel wall in Europe. The energy produced from this heats the centre.
Fladgate real estate partner Richard Kaufman led the team advising the trust with assistance from corporate partner Avram Kelman, real estate finance senior associate Nick Mumby and corporate solicitor Sophie Price.
