Merlin logoFladgate’s construction team provides pro bono advice to Merlin’s Magic Wand, a worldwide children’s charity.

The charity arranges days out at attractions of Merlin Entertainments plc, such as LEGOLAND Resorts®, SEA LIFE Centres and Madame Tussauds.  MMW also creates special facilities designed to ensure that children with severe illnesses, physical disabilities or other disadvantages have the opportunity to experience a Merlin attraction.

Construction partner Barry Hembling recently supported MMW with their project to create a SEA LIFE themed sensory room at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, Brighton. The room is fitted with specialist equipment to create an under-the-sea multi-sensory experience for young patients to use as both a learning and therapeutic area. Fladgate’s involvement included advice and reviewing various legal documents to ensure, from a construction law perspective, that the works were carried out safely and in accordance with legislation.
