Building knowledge: three essential updates

Time: 16:15 - 17:30

Location: Fladgate LLP, 16 Great Queen Street, London, United Kingdom

The last six months have seen a tremendous period of change for construction.  We are currently undergoing the largest review of health and safety legislation in the UK since 1945.  At the same time, the Brexit “Great Repeal Bill” has been introduced to Parliament and its terms will significantly impact the construction industry. Judgment has also been handed down on one of the few construction related Supreme Court decisions which provides new guidance on fitness for purpose obligations. Join us for a practical and insightful analysis of these issues in a discussion of relevance to all construction professionals including contractors, consultants, developers and funders.

We will be discussing the following topics:

  • Major issues for the construction industry including fire and security risks
  • Brexit for Construction (part II) – following the forecasts of our previous seminar, what now happens after the “Great Repeal Bill” and why should we be interested?
  • Final conclusions on fitness for purpose after the Supreme Court MT Højgaard v E.On decision.
