New panel win for Fladgate’s Sports Business Group

The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) has invited Fladgate LLP to join its new legal panel following a competitive tender process.

The legal panel will be comprised of four law firms which, together with in-house Legal Counsel Rod McKenzie, will service all of the SPFL’s diverse legal requirements.

Fladgate has a wealth of experience in the sports sector and regularly acts for sports professionals, clubs, organising and governing bodies, sponsors and agents on a variety of matters including image rights, taxation, FA intermediaries regulations, endorsement deals, sponsorship, ambush marketing, merchandising and other commercial arrangements, broadcasting and web rights, disputes handling, investment and fund-raising and governing body regulatory issues.

The team has advised on a number of world games and other major sporting events and has particular expertise in football, motor racing, cricket, golf and cycling.
