Fladgate has advised online gaming start-up SharedPlay and its founder, Karolina Pelc, on its €1.5m seed investment round led by LeoVentures (the corporate ventures arm of LeoVegas). SharedPlay is the gaming industry’s first B2B solution with an SaaS model that makes it possible to offer a gaming experience in multiplayer mode. Karolina is one of the leading innovators and thought leaders in the field of casino innovation.
This is an excellent example of our venture capital team’s recent work, as we were able to deliver complex advice within a tight timeframe and cost budget, and to adapt our advice to the particular commercial dynamics of the transaction. It is also a further example of our experience advising innovators in the gaming sector.
Karolina Pelc, founder and CEO of SharedPlay, comments: "Being a first-time Founder and new to the journey of securing financing, my expectations from a law firm were not just around smooth and professional assistance with the transaction, but the most important thing was trust, responsiveness and overall confidence that they truly have my back. Jamie, Alex and the full team at Fladgate delivered and excelled in all these areas for which I am very grateful and hope to do more work with them in the future".
Venture capital partner Jamie Hamilton says: “We are delighted to have advised SharedPlay on this investment which demonstrates the continued appetite for innovation and companies redefining the gaming market. We look forward to continuing to support SharedPlay in their future strategic ventures.”
The Fladgate team comprised partners Jamie Hamilton and Alex Haffner, supported by Tyler Hilborne.
