This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic, market leading department that is highly ranked by all the leading legal directories and provides high-quality advice to private and commercial clients.  Our team currently consists of 4 partners 6 associates, 1 trainee and 3 paralegals.

As an Associate, your role is to support the partners and other earners of the department across a wide range of non-contentious construction matters.

The work will be primarily acting for developers, funders, tenants, consultants and contractors on matters including but not limited to the following:

  • Drafting and negotiating building contract documentation, professional appointments, collateral warranties, performance bonds, parent company guarantees and related documentation;
  • Working on projects under a range of contracts including JCT, NEC and FDIC;
  • Drafting and negotiating project documents and associated documents for PFI and other substantial projects;
  • Advising on contractual issues and troubleshooting as and when problems arise;
  • Reviewing and reporting to clients on documentation submitted by other parties.
  • Although the role is primarily non-contentious, there may be some opportunities to undertake contentious work and the split of the work will vary to meet the needs of clients and workload.
