We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk within the Accounts department. Your role is to be part of the team responsible for the accounts of the firm, in particular dealing with office account transactions including but not limited to, purchase ledger invoices, payments and receipts, supplier reconciliations, petty cash and the processing of expense claims. You will support the Accounts Manager in ensuring that the requirements of the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR), Anti-Money Laundering legislation, VAT and any statutory regulations are complied with.

The successful candidate will have:

  • strong GCSE and “A” levels, particularly in Maths and English;
  • appropriate relevant experience in an accounts payable role of working in a legal or professional services environment dealing with office transactions. Previous experience of Aderant would be an advantage;
  • a background in legal cashiering experience covering accounts payable functions / purchase ledger, as well as up-to-date knowledge of VAT and Solicitors Accounts Rules;
  • excellent numeracy, communication and time management skills;
  • the ability to work well under pressure;
  • meticulous attention to detail; and
  • the ability to work well within a team environment, with limited supervision.

An ILCA / ILFM qualification would also be advantageous, although not essential.

In addition, you will be a confident communicator with a positive work ethic and the ability to build credible relationships with clients both internal and external. We are looking for an individual who presents themselves with professionalism and polish, who will inspire the confidence of clients and colleagues.
