Daniel Polden is a partner in the real estate department at Fladgate.

He specialises in a range of commercial property work for clients based in the UK and also overseas. The matters he handles for clients include investments, developments, finance and co-ventures.

Daniel’s clients include individuals, family offices, property companies and institutions and those that provide finance to them. He deals with their acquisitions and sales, financings, development arrangements, property/asset management and lettings. Daniel seeks to develop his relationships by bringing a ‘value added’ approach, proactively working with his clients and contacts to give high quality practical and technical advice and helping them to enhance their commercial positions. This extends to the introductions he is able to facilitate in order to assist his clients and contacts with their commercial and legal requirements.

An example of the transactions on which Daniel has advised is acting for a family office in relation to a financing of a portfolio in London and comprising several hundred occupational commercial and residential units, to a major clearing bank. This transaction resulted from Daniel introducing the parties to each other and, while Fladgate had not worked previously on these particular properties, because of the introduction we were instructed to deal with the financing.

Daniel is ranked as a leading lawyer by the independent guides to the legal profession. A client told Chambers UK ‘Daniel is commercially driven, understands his clients and their objectives, and is supportive and constructive in the way he handles negotiating on their behalf’.

He qualified in 1984 and was a member of an international law firm and a US law firm (in both cases heading their real estate practices in London) before joining Fladgate in February 2015.
