Richard is a partner in the real estate department at Fladgate and chairman of the firm.

He specialises in development and finance work and also assists corporate occupiers with their property requirements.

Richard has acted for a number of private investors buying property investments, mainly in central London. These clients are generally offshore and require structuring advice as well as real estate skills to enable the purchase to proceed.

An example of the transactions on which Richard has advised include acting for Weston Homes on its joint venture acquisition at Anglia Square Norwich with Columbia Threadneedle to regenerate the area and provide up to 1300 residential units.

On financing, Richard acts for a number of corporates in their finance deals, including the £230m financing of Camden Market Holding Corp with Nomura and a £120m facility for Weston Homes Group.

Corporate occupier clients include Turner Broadcasting, Incisive Media and accountants Lubbock Fine. Richard is acting for Turner on its headquarters move to Old Street and he also acts for a number of sets of barristers’ chambers on their occupation needs and office moves.
