I am an associate solicitor in Fladgate’s Property Litigation department.

About

Although I specialise in a broad range of property litigation issues, on a day-to-day basis I am most involved with landlord and tenant disputes. Whether these involve rent arrears or lease renewals, I am always conscious that contentious situations can be time-consuming and worrying for everybody involved. I consider my role to be as much about avoiding disputes arising as it is resolving them in Court. I am driven to protect my client’s commercial and personal interests, whether that it an early settlement to avoid proceedings or defending their position at trial.

Outside of work I enjoy painting and baking.

Experience

  • Successfully recovered significant arrears from high street retail and hospitality tenants;
  • Advising landlord clients on resisting attempts by tenants to secure new leases under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 in cases where the landlord intends to occupy or redevelop the premises;
  • Assisting and advising a tenant client suffering from water ingress issues to have necessary repairs made and rent suspension clauses triggered;
  • Advising client about their options in respect of an invalid break notice served by their tenant.
