I specialise in investment acquisitions and disposals, financing and all aspects of estate management.


I became a partner at Fladgate in 1989 so I have been happily working at Fladgate through many cycles of the property market. Several of my clients have trusted me to handle their property investment transactions for over 30 years. So many aspects of the commercial world and the law have changed beyond recognition over the course of my experience. Accordingly, learning to embrace change, using new technology and finding inventive ways to service clients’ needs are key to building successful transactions. Each client has its own approach to risk and reward and I focus the aspects of each deal my clients really care about. They look to me to cope with the legal complexities, spot the salient commercial issues, and devise practical and timely solutions. I can separate the wheat from the chaff fast. I don’t take silly points because I have nothing to prove. Clients like the fact that I tell it how it is, and they believe in my judgement. I craft precise and clear clauses (I relish challenging drafting), negotiate the obstacles, find workarounds, meet deadlines and keep cheerful - because I love my work and, by now (modesty be damned), I’m at the top of my game.
