About

I am a disputes partner specialising in complex banking, insolvency and international disputes, with a particular focus on cross-border enforcement and India-related matters. I advise banks, insolvency practitioners, corporates and individuals on high-value, strategically sensitive disputes.

I have over 20 years’ experience acting in complex disputes for banks, insolvency practitioners, companies and individuals. My practice centres on banking and finance litigation, restructuring and insolvency, civil fraud and commercial disputes, often with a strong cross-border or India-facing dimension.

I regularly advise lenders on distressed and non-performing loans, enforcement strategies, guarantees, security and asset recovery. I work closely with insolvency practitioners on administrations, bankruptcies and contentious office-holder applications, helping them navigate both legal risk and commercial pressure. Much of my work involves coordinating multi-jurisdictional strategies and managing overseas counsel to deliver clear, efficient outcomes. I also advise corporates and individuals on persona, trust and shareholder disputes.

Clients value my ability to combine technical rigour with commercial realism. I focus on solutions, not just legal analysis, and I am often brought in where matters are high value, time sensitive or reputationally complex. I enjoy working with entrepreneurial clients and teams, and I take a collaborative, pragmatic approach to resolving difficult problems.

I support Fladgate’s disputes practice alongside its India desk, banking and finance, insolvency and international teams.

When I’m away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing several sports including tennis and golf, and supporting my son on his ambition of being a professional golfer.

  • Acting for international banks in disputes arising from syndicated lending and secured facilities exceeding $250m, including enforcement against guarantors and overseas assets and coordination of multi-jurisdictional legal teams.
  • Acting on the insolvency of Portsmouth Football Club, the first Premier League Club to enter an insolvency process.
  • Representing a project management company embroiled in a dispute with its co-contractor and ultimate instructing entity in the UAE with respect to performance of a high value contract.
  • Representing insolvency practitioners in high-profile administrations and bankruptcies, including contested asset realisations, director claims and complex office-holder applications.
  • Advising major banks on recovery and restructuring of non-performing property-backed loans, including negotiated exits, receiverships and insolvency-led enforcement strategies.
  • Acting in cross-border fraud, enforcement and asset recovery matters involving assets and counterparties in Europe, the Middle East and India.
  • Advising corporates in High Court litigation arising from commercial disputes, professional negligence and failed projects, including parallel proceedings and overseas asset issues.
