I specialise in corporate law and focus on M&A, equity investments, joint ventures and corporate real estate.

Whether you are buying, selling or restructuring your business, entering into a new joint venture or raising funds, my no-nonsense approach is to get things done, whilst helping my clients navigate complex legal issues in order to protect their interests.

I am noted as a key lawyer in Legal 500 UK for our M&A and Venture Capital practice areas and I specialise in transactions across a range of sectors, including technology, hospitality, infrastructure and real estate. My particular focus is on equity investments and eventual exits and I also have significant experience advising on corporate property deals (often with a cross-border element).

I enjoy working as part of my clients’ team to deliver commercial and enterprising solutions. As someone who has once skydived alone and for the first (and probably last!) time ever after only a 15-minute tutorial, I would say that I like a challenge and to test my agility. Luckily, my deal flow often presents that opportunity.

I love travelling, which is usually a road trip (much more fun for me than my husband who has to drive) as we take our Jack Russell everywhere - from Russia to the Caribbean and anything in between. He is quite possibly the world’s most spoilt dog.

Experience

Advising Zouk Capital (private equity and infrastructure fund manager, investing in the clean and efficient economy):

as part of the group of financial investors (also comprising Index Ventures, 83North, Creandum and Northzone) on the sale of their interests in iZettle (fintech) to PayPal Holdings with a total deal value of US$2.2bn;
as the manager of the HM Treasury's £400m Charging Infrastructure Investment Fund on their joint venture with Liberty Global to roll out on-street residential electric vehicle charging points in the UK;
on their investments into InstaVolt (operator of a rapid EV charging network) and a subsequent exit to EQT Infrastructure; and
on a partial sale (including a rollover) of their interests in Huddle (collaboration software) to Turn/River Capital with a subsequent exit to Ideagen.

Advised Yoo Capital (a real estate investment firm focused on special opportunities across the UK) on its:

partnership with a consortium of German institutional investors relating to a £296m acquisition of Olympia London (exhibition centre and event space);
joint venture with Astarte Capital Partners (asset management firm focused on sustainable real asset sectors); and
acquisition of a majority ownership interest in Shepherds Bush Market from U+I Group.

Acted for the sellers of Xexec (employee engagement business) to Abry Partners and Castik Capital (US PE firms).

Advised 4C Group (a hotel development and management company) on its joint venture and financing arrangements in respect of the first Canopy by Hilton hotel in London at the Minories site, which was developed by 4C Group.

Acted for Marathon Venture Capital (seed-stage fund) on:

their exit from Lenses.io (streaming data management platform) to Celonis (which in 2021 raised $1bn on a $11bn valuation, at the time making it New York and Germany's most valuable start-up); and
the sale of shares in LearnWorlds (edtech online platform) to Insight Partners (US VC firm).
