Crux Underwriting’s first institutional Fundraising

The team behind the work

For their first institutional fundraising, managing general agent Crux Underwriting brought in our corporate team to advise on this significant transaction.

The fundraising, which has just achieved a third close, is targeting £10 million, with significant monies being invested by individuals sourced by West Hill Capital. Existing shareholders have had the opportunity to increase their holdings; and new staff have also invested.

Crux was founded in 2024 as a specialist managing general agent working with brokers and capital providers to underwrite lines such as political violence and liability. They blend this expertise with modern insurance technology to bring an enhanced proposition to the insurance market.

Lead Fladgate partner, Anthony Shatz, commented: “It has been a great experience to work alongside Crux’s team to help them secure the backing of West Hill Capital. Bringing together specialists from across corporate, tax and regulatory, we ensured a seamless service to help support Crux on their journey.”

Graham Elliott, CEO of Crux Underwriting, commented: “It has been excellent to work with the Fladgate team, who throughout the process have been responsive and creative."

The wider team included Kate Goldie, Hamilton Forrest, Tyler Hilborne, Kate Troup and Georgia Leach.
