I specialise in dispute resolution, with expertise in advising clients on complex coverage issues and insurance claims.

I am a Senior Associate in the dispute resolution team. I act on both the claimant and defendant side in a broad range of commercial and insurance disputes.

I have acted for clients connected with the insurance industry including policyholders, brokers, insurers and managing general agents. I have over 6 years’ experience assisting clients with their insurance disputes at pre-action, arbitration, mediation and in litigation.

I have extensive experience advising clients with respect to coverage and insurance claims across all classes of business including professional indemnity (PI), error and omissions (E&O), directors and officers (D&O), crime, cyber, property damage and business interruption (PDBI), warranty and indemnity (W&I) and political risk insurance.

Much of my work has an international element, and I also have a keen interest in political risks insurance, with recent experience handling a complex coverage arbitration dispute following an overseas expropriation event.

I frequently advise clients on a wide variety of high-value PI claims; and PDBI losses arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Experience:

Political risk – Acting for a policyholder in a coverage dispute under its political risks policy following a multi-million-dollar expropriation of our client’s business operations in Africa.
E&O – Advising a broker client on its involvement in a Commercial Court claim by a claimant hotelier for approx. EUR 400m PDBI losses arising from the Covid-19 pandemic.
E&O – Acting for a defendant broker and its E&O insurers with respect to a Commercial Court claim by a claimant hotelier for approx. GBP 20m PDBI losses arising from the Covid-19 pandemic.
PI – advising on a PI coverage dispute with respect to professional negligence claims under the Third Parties (Rights Against Insurers) Act 2010 for approx. GBP 90m of losses arising from the alleged defective construction of London-based student accommodation.
PI – advising on a PI coverage dispute with respect to professional negligence claims in Italy for approx. EUR 300m losses arising from the sinking of a passenger ferry in the Red Sea.
