Areas of Expertise
Our Service
For over 15 years, I have represented ultra-high-net worth and high net-worth individuals, private investors and small to medium size property companies. I am often instructed early on to discuss my clients’ commercial objectives, devise a strategy with them and then implement it, sometimes with litigation. I am often asked to advise on development issues such as restrictive covenants, rights to light, seeking possession from protected tenants and easements, as well as contested joint venture agreements and shareholder disputes. I enjoy being asked proactively to problem solve situations for my clients and the personal relationships that I have managed to develop with them.
I also regularly assist clients to protect their property portfolios and, through this, have developed a deep understanding of a broad range of property management issues including possessions, arrears, dilapidations and contested consents. I represent clients in court, tribunals, arbitrations and adjudications and particularly enjoy engaging in complex settlement discussions, thinking laterally and sometimes outside of the main issues in dispute to find a commercially acceptable resolution to clients’ problems.
The Fladgate personal approach to service and client base really appealed to me when I decided to move firms. It fits in identically with the way I like to act for clients, which presents a very exciting opportunity going forward. The firm already has an outstanding reputation in the market and I am delighted to have identified such a strong internal culture too. With that backdrop, there can only be even greater opportunities to deepen relationships as our clients’ trusted advisors.
Outside of work I spend my time with wife and young family, and I am a keen runner. Having never run a marathon before, I took the opportunity to use lockdown to train for my first ultra-marathon, a 100km race from London to Brighton, to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
