KE Hotels have acquired the iconic Queens Hotel in Cheltenham, a landmark addition to their growing portfolio of eight hotels nationwide (five including Cheltenham, owned and three operated by KE under management agreements), and the type of transaction we’re always happy to assist with. We have advised KE Hotels for nearly 10 years on a number of their acquisitions and financings.
Situated on Cheltenham’s historic promenade, this Grade II listed building is regarded as one of the region’s most architecturally significant hotels. A former host to luminaries including Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the property has been declared as ‘one of the noblest buildings of its kind in Europe.’
Anil Khanna, Managing Director of KE Hotels said “Working with Gary and the dedicated team at Fladgate is always a pleasure. They continue to deliver excellence across multiple teams demonstrating the firm’s depth of expertise.”
Lead Partner, Gary Smith commented, “It was great to be working alongside KE Hotels on another successful transaction. As a long-standing client of Fladgate, it’s exciting to see their continued growth within the hospitality space.” .
Our team was led by Partner Gary Smith on the finance side with Partners Sophie Burke and Nick Wood leading on the corporate and property transaction respectively with support from Senior Associate Miles Crawford, Associates Sarah Jackson-Koufie, Jack Rudgeley, Georgia Slater, Emily Jameson (née Smith) and Legal Assistant Katy Vella.
